These two healthy desserts are so easy to make , no cooking required and look good enough to take as a plate to Christmas eve or Christmas Day lunch or dinner. They are nice and light after a huge main meal and can even be a great starter nibble plate. Merry Christmas!
Santa Strawberries Recipe
Ingredients:
1 dozen strawberries
1 cup whipped cream
a handful of dark chocolate sprinkles or dark chocolate melts
Directions:
Slice the leafy end off each strawberry
so they stand up evenly.
Then slice the tip off to make a little hat.
Place dollop of whipped cream on top of the strawberry base. Plop the little hat on top. Add another small dollop of whipped cream to the tip of the hat to make a mock pom-pom.
Place two chocolate sprinkles in the Santas “face” for the eyes. Using a toothpick, place two very small splotches of whipped cream down the front of the strawberry for buttons.
You’re done! It’s that easy. If you don’t eat them right away, store them in the fridge to keep them cold. Santa doesn’t do well with heat.
Christmas Tree Cheese Board
Ingredients:
1 piece of each of Australian Edam, Gouda and Cheddar Cheese from the deli or you can buy a Cheese party pack from Coles or Woolworths which contains semi hard and hard cheeses.
Bunch of Red and Green Grapes
Mango cut into cubes
Directions:
Arrange cubes of Australian Edam, Cheddar and Gouda cheese with red and green grapes and mango cubes to form a tree. Then tuck fresh thyme sprigs between the layers. A slice of celery is the finishing touch for a perfect tree trunk. Accompany with a plate of water crackers and serve with toothpicks to make it easier to eat.
Merry Christmas
